Stefano Di Pietro (1984) si è laureato con lode in Filosofia alla Sapienza di Roma e a Giugno 2014 ha ottenuto il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Filosofia del Linguaggio nella stessa Università. Ha svolto attività di ricerca negli Stati Uniti dal 2009 al 2012, studiando Linguistica e Scienze Cognitive a UC Berkeley con George Lakoff ed è stato affiliato al Dipartimento di Scienze Cognitive a UC San Diego. È stato assistente in vari corsi universitari a La Sapienza nella Facoltà di Filosofia e Science Umanistiche. È giornalista pubblicista iscritto all’albo e ha pubblicato numerosi articoli scientifici e giornalistici sia in testate che riviste scientifiche italiane e straniere. Insieme all’esperienza accademica si è sempre impegnato nella formazione e attività musicale. A 15 anno ha iniziato lo studio della chitarra e più tardi del pianoforte. Dall’età di 18 anni ha iniziato lo studio del canto prima privatamente e poi in varie scuole di musica iniziando una serie di collaborazioni in formazioni musicali di vario genere come chitarrista e cantante. Ha studiato tra gli altri con Arianna Todero, Feliciano Zacchia, Alessandro De Berti e Fiorella Cosacchi. Ha partecipato a numerose produzioni musicali (album, featuring, musiche per film e serie televisive) sia con le sue composizioni originali che con versione cover di brani appartenenti al repertorio anglo-americano. Il suo ultimo album “Monarch” (2015 – Limited/Suburban) con l’Alternative Rock Band “Mad Shepherd” è stato co-prodotto da Walter Babbini (Zucchero, Morricone, Piovani) al Revolver Studios. Insieme all’attività musicale e accademica svolge attività di consulenza per la parte musicale in alcuni progetti di Ricerca Europei (H2020).
Dal 2013 insegna “Music in Context” nel Corso di Laurea Triennale (Bachelor Degree in Contemporary Music Performance) a “Sonus Factory – Music Performance Institute”

Stefano Di Pietro (1984) received his B.A. and M.A. with honours in Philosophy at Sapienza University of Rome and received his Phd in Philosophy of Language in June 2014 at the same University. He did extensive training and research in the United States from 2009 to 2012. He studied Linguistics and Cognitive Science with George Lakoff at UC Berkeley (CA, USA) and he has been affiliated to the Cognitive Science Department at UC San Diego (CA, USA).
He has been teaching assistant and graduate student instructor for numerous courses is Sapienza University of Rome in the Department of Philosophy and Humanities.
He published scientific as well as journalistic articles both in Italian and English on topics related to Cognitive Science, Aesthetics, Linguistics and Philosophy both in peer-review Journals, Books and Magazines.
Along with academic experience he gained skills and knowledge in the field of Music starting the study of guitars at the age of 15 and later on piano and keyboards. At the age of 18 he started singing lessons both privately and in music schools. He studied among others with Arianna Todero, Feliciano Zacchia, Alessandro De Berti and Fiorella Cosacchi. He featured as singer/songwriter in a number of music productions (Albums, Movies, TV series) both with his original pieces and cover version of songs from the anglo-american repertoire. His latest album “Monarch” (2015 – Limited/Suburban) with the Alternative Rock Band “Mad Shepherd” is co-produced by Walter Babbini (Zucchero, Morricone, Piovani) at Revolver Studios. Along with his musical and academic activity he is also a consultant for European Research Projects related to Music.
From 2013 he is Degree Unit Leader for “Music in Context” in the Bachelor Degree in Contemporary Music Performance at “Sonus Factory – Music Performance Institute”
